The breath of relief that puffed from my throat following the almost unbearable musical patience that executes so flawlessly in thistupidream's opener, "On the Last Day I was Happy," was the first of many to come. BE has mastered the art of patience in rock; the result is a 10 song collection of progressive power pop full of tight complex arrangements that hook and reel even the shortest attention spans.

Highlights of Thistupidream come in every form from every direction. The acoustic-electric guitar combo attack pioneered by Radiohead is exploited and re-designed in appropriate fashion in the raw power of "The Corporal's Daughter," and the cryptic messages and shattering climax of the title track.

"The Night You Faked Your Own Death" exemplifies BE's unique ability to take what would normally be a simple three and a half minute pop song and shape it into a five minute prog-rock anthem. Vocalist Talley Summerlin's earthy and extended vocal delivery pushes the track, backed by a wall of heavily layered guitar work and unorthodox drum patterns.

BE is a band that represents musicianship in all forms. Thistupidream not only impresses but inspires; an instant gem.
